Ben co-wrote a song with Avril Lavigne entitled Nobody’s Home on her sophmore album, Under My Skin. He also helped Kelly Clarkson on two songs Addicted and Because of You both present on her 2nd album Breakaway. He also, recently, helped Daughtry on his new album with a song called What About Now.

Since leaving Evanescence, during the middle of a tour, Ben has been working behind the scenes with artists such as Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. Reportedly composing and writing. We know for a fact he wrote part of Nobody’s Home on Avril Lavigne’s sophmore album Under My Skin, Addicted and Because of You on Kelly Clarkson's sophmore album, Breakaway. Ben had stated, in an interview, that he had done "enough coke to kill a small country!" He also said he picked up that drug habit to "numb the pain of knowing Evanescence’s inevitable demise." He has since checked himself into rehab, and started over. Working with a variety of other artists and working on his own solo album due out sometime in 2007.
